Miyagi ("we," "our," or "us"), operated at miyagi.app, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our feedback widget service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you sign up via Google OAuth, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Name (as provided by Google)
  • Profile picture URL (as provided by Google)

2.2 Feedback Data

When users submit feedback through your widget, we collect:

  • Feedback content (text message)
  • Feedback type (bug report, feature request, or general feedback)
  • Screenshots (optional, if user captures one)
  • User email (optional, if end-user provides it)

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

Our widget automatically collects contextual information to help you debug issues:

  • Page URL where feedback was submitted
  • Browser type and version (user agent)
  • Operating system
  • Screen resolution
  • Timestamp of submission

We do not track users across sites, use fingerprinting, or collect IP addresses.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • Display feedback in your dashboard
  • Send you notifications (email and/or Slack) about new feedback
  • Process payments via Stripe for paid subscriptions
  • Respond to your support inquiries
  • Improve and optimize the Service
  • Send important service updates (e.g., changes to Terms or Privacy Policy)

4. Data Storage and Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
  • Data is stored securely using Supabase infrastructure
  • We use row-level security to ensure users can only access their own data
  • Screenshots are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion:

  • Your data is retained for 30 days to allow for recovery
  • After 30 days, all data is permanently deleted
  • You may request immediate deletion by contacting us
  • You can export all your feedback data as CSV before deletion

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google OAuth: For authentication
  • Supabase: For database and file storage
  • Stripe: For payment processing
  • Slack: For optional notification integrations (user-initiated)
  • Google Analytics: For anonymous usage analytics on our marketing pages

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: View all your data through the dashboard
  • Export: Download your feedback data as CSV
  • Rectification: Update your account information
  • Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
  • Portability: Export your data in a machine-readable format

8. Cookies

We use minimal cookies:

  • Authentication cookie: Essential for maintaining your login session
  • Preference cookie: Remembers your dashboard preferences

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party cookies that follow you across sites. Our widget does not set any cookies on your users' browsers.

9. Widget Privacy

The Miyagi widget embedded on your website:

  • Does not set any cookies
  • Does not track users across pages or sessions
  • Does not collect any data until a user actively submits feedback
  • Only captures screenshots when explicitly initiated by the user
  • Is under 7kb gzipped to minimize performance impact

10. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the dashboard. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when changes were made.
